Bandicoot Encounter - Inside the Nocturnal House!

Step inside the enclosure for a rare, close-up encounter with our curious and active bandicoots. Settle in quietly as these fascinating nocturnal animals go about their business, often venturing close as they explore both their habitat and their guests.

Held within the peaceful setting of the Nocturnal House, it’s a rare opportunity to observe these shy native species up close in a calm, carefully managed environment.

Please note: This is a non-contact experience. Our bandicoots are free to explore at their own pace and may choose to come close, but they are never handled or touched.

- Suitable for ages 10 and up.

- Spaces are very limited.

Meet at Meeting Point J near the Nocturnal House. 

Cancellation policy:

Where bookings are cancelled by the agent, tour operator or visitor, the Alice Springs Desert Park reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees: 

• Greater than 72 hours’ prior to departure - no cost incurred 
• 72 to 48 hours’ notice prior to departure - 50% of the cost of service 
• Less than 48 hours’ prior to departure - 100% cost of service 

The Alice Springs Desert Park reserves the right to cancel bookings due to unforeseen circumstances. Should the unlikely event of a Desert Park instigated cancellation occur, there will be no charges issued and for prepaid clients a full refund will be provided. Option of rescheduling is at the discretion of Alice Springs Desert Park and subject to availability.
